Beto Dourah, a Rio de Janeiro-born singer-songwriter based in Brasília, has built a 35-year career filled with achievements. During this period, he released a series of original albums, including:
"Destino" (1994); "Lado Zen" (1998); "Hoje à Noite" (2001); "Sorte" (2006); "Trilha sonora do filme ‘Sombras do Tempo’" (2012); "Deixa o Coração Falar / DVD e CD ao vivo" (2014); "Trilha Sonora do longa-metragem Entreturnos" (2014); "Trilha sonora do longa-metragem A Serena Onda Que o Mar Me Trouxe’" (2023); "Joia Rara - Vol 1" (2024) and "Joia Rara - Vol 2" (2024).
Additionally, he also compiled three compilations: "Beto Dourah Coletânea" (2004), "Perfil" (2012), "Oito" (2013), and released 26 Singles. Throughout his career, he collaborated with a diverse range of musical partners, including names like Ivan Lins, Jorge Vercillo, Telo Borges, Paulinho Pedra Azul, among others. With performances on various stages across Brazil since 2000, he expanded his international presence with a tour through Europe in 2015, which included destinations such as Graz, Vienna, Salzburg in Austria, and Coburg in Germany.
Dourah's song "Desafio," written with Vercillo, is part of the album "Vida é Arte" (Jorge Vercillo), from the DVD "Deixa o Coração Falar - ao vivo" (Beto Dourah), interpreted by both and is also the theme of the feature film "Entreturnos," directed by Edson Ferreira, Filmes da Ilha, co-produced by Canal Brasil, in a solo version by Beto Dourah.
Also in 2015, he composed and recorded with his partner Ivan Lins the song "Nas Ruas," which is on the playlist of various radios throughout Brazil. In partnership with the multi-instrumentalist musician and music producer Fernando Palau, he signed several film soundtracks, highlighting among them the soundtracks of the films "Entreturnos," "Sombras do Tempo," "Chamada à Cobrar," "A Serena Onda Que o Mar Me Trouxe," and others, all winners of numerous awards in Brazil, various countries in the Americas, and Europe.
"Deixa o Coração Falar" (2014) lends its name to his first live DVD, with the participation of Ive and Jorge Vercillo, with an introductory text signed by his partner Ivan Lins: "Brasília has been the cradle of talented musicians, composers, and performers. It has given Brazilian music beautiful gems in all genres, like this singer-songwriter, Beto Dourah. In beautiful moments of this DVD, we can confirm this reality. Welcome, Beto!" After being licensed to Canal Brasil between 2014 and 2017 with monthly periodic exhibitions, currently the show "Deixa O Coração Falar" is exclusively displayed on the Canal Music Box Brasil programming grid.
"Joia Rara" - Double Album
Released on January 31, 2024, "Joia Rara" is a double album with 16 songs, 8 in each volume, where Dourah highlights his evolution as an artist and emphasizes his talent as a composer, instrumentalist, interpreter, and producer. Each track on the album was meticulously crafted by Beto Dourah during the period from 2021 to 2023, ensuring a harmonious fusion of creativity and emotion.
The title track, "Joia Rara," stands out with two captivating versions, allowing listeners to immerse themselves in the rich nuances of this musical treasure. The album also features collaborations with some of the great names of Brazilian music, including the touching "Canção de Amor," with Telo Borges from Clube da Esquina, and "Valsa Leve," a charming partnership with the renowned troubadour from Minas Gerais, Paulinho Pedra Azul, who also lent his vocal talent in a beautiful duet with Beto Dourah.
Other notable partnerships include the ethereal "Anja," a collaboration with writer, composer, journalist, and guitarist Márcio Proença, and the romantic "Cartas de Amor," a joint work with the great singer and composer from Maranhão, Erasmo Dibell. The album also features "Monte Carmelo," a moving partnership with the brilliant Nema Antunes, who also participated in the recording with his unique fretless bass.
"Quarto Crescente," a homage to the studio of the same name where the album came to life, in addition to the instrumental version in volume 2, is also eternalized in a lyric version in volume 1, named "Quarto Crescente - A Missão," composed in partnership with Thiago Jamelão.
Also noteworthy is the participation of the brilliant multi-instrumentalist and arranger Sidnei Brito on the tracks "Valsa Leve" and "Cartas de Amor."
